Guide Dogs wanted to create a new, high-profile event that brought together dogs and their owners to raise vital funds for their work with blind and partially-sighted people. Something fun and engaging that would stand out and reach audiences who had never supported the charity before. That’s where the idea of Dogs Unite! was born. With bold, primary colours, superhero capes for the dogs, and an integrated campaign to get people along to a huge sponsored dog walk in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The event was a big success, featuring hundreds of dogs, a photo booth, dog show, and plenty of chances to find out about the charity’s work and how to support it. It has since spawned many smaller events all over the country.
